Song for a New Day Clouds turning, secret and slow, over the great banks of snow. Clouds of breath over the lawn. I begin the white violet dawn speechless and full of odd flaws, wondrous to be here at all, seeing the world has a sheen, stepping into the pristine, beautiful day. Forward into the long climb. Loneliness, retire, I have a friend this time. We will live a simple life. We will be a man and wife, walking in a daylight now, where I will not let you down, though speechless and full of odd flaws, wondrous to be here at all. seeing the world has a sheen, stepping into the pristine, beautiful day.

Sweet William There has got to be a song, even on the road to hard days. First days are long days. The sun came early on. We were not ready for it at all. The lawn gleams. Shall we go out, sweet William, to all the colors of the morning? And ther air will be wonderful, and the trees will be comforting. With you, I want to sing. And we would not change a thing. Sweet William is the strongest and the best, in and out the garden, also the smallest. The quietly, quietly strong can become invisible in some ways. Shall we go out, sweet William, where all the colors will be dazzling? And the air will be wonderful, and the trees will be comforting, and the cheers will be for you, and the birds will be listening. With you, I want to sing. And we would not change a thing.

Landscape with Birds Down the stairs in the air, the light is slanting down. In a clean early scene no stain is on these grounds. Birds over sidestreets, birds over houses. And what friend, in the end, will maybe come around.
